Missing Persons Locator Systems Workshop

Day of Learning (DoL)

The Minerals Council South Africa hosted a Missing Persons Locator Systems Day of Learning, bringing together industry leaders, technical experts, and practitioners to address a critical safety priority.

Following new regulations introduced in March 2025, mining companies are advancing implementation while navigating practical and technical challenges.

The workshop unpacked new regulatory requirements, looked into emerging leading practices, and explored real-world solutions to support compliance, and improve safety outcomes. It also created a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and alignment across the sector to strengthen emergency response capabilities and help safeguard lives.
