For this reason, we and our members are supporting the government effort Vooma vaccination campaign because we want as many of our employees and communities vaccinated as soon as possible in the interest of saving lives and livelihoods. We believe this is a significant step in the right direction. We are all working together with our trade union partners and government to get the vaccine process rolled out as quickly as possible.”

National Day of Health & Safety in Mining 2021 virtual event
The Minerals Council South Africa today launched the National Day of Health and Safety in Mining 2021. This is the fourth annual commemoration demonstrating the mining industry’s commitment to achieving zero harm.
This year’s event was centred on a theme of Renewed Focus for our New Normal, which recognised the integration of health, safety and wellbeing, acknowledging the impacts of COVID-19 on the industry’s performance in 2020, and the consequent behaviour changes needed. -
