International Women’s Day 2026

For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026, the Minerals Council South Africa aligns with the United Nations theme: Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls. Through the Women in Mining programme, the Council reflects on progress toward gender inclusion in the sector and acknowledges the challenges women still face. The Heroes celebration leverages the day to highlight progress made in advancing inclusion in mining, address barriers women still face, and honour women making notable contributions in their organisations, mining communities and the broader sector to advance transformation.
