The Women in Mining programme of the Minerals Council South Africa hosted a breakfast to commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, providing an opportunity for the mining industry, in line with the UN, to reinforce its commitment to ensuring the rights to justice for all women and girls, dismantling harmful social norms, promoting inclusive and equitable systems, and removing policies and practices that create structural barriers. The event recognised women advancing education, mentorship, skills development and leadership. Industry stakeholders engaged in knowledge-sharing, talent development and career progression, culminating in the announcement of the 2025 WiM Education and Development Heroes, celebrating trailblazers shaping a skilled, inclusive, and future-ready mining sector.
